Job description

As a Senior Accountant on the Finance team, you will:

Working closely with the existing Finance team, you will be responsible for supporting Client’s growing finance function and will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to their growth.


• Assist with the internal accounting and financial reporting
• Work with the Finance Team on preparing full cycle accounting on a timely basis, which includes:
• Recording and reconciling cash activity
• Processing wire payments and transfers
• Completing cheque runs and invoicing to external parties
• Reviewing and processing expense reports and reconciling credit card statements
• Reconciling inter-company accounts
• Processing payroll semi-monthly
• Reviewing budget to actual results each period
• Drafting of GST/QST filings
• Assisting with the preparing of draft financial statements including monthly consolidated financial statements
• Supporting year-end audit for Pinnacle entities
• Preparing the books and records for a portfolio of client entities on a monthly or quarterly basis including some cash management and GST filings.
• Assisting with data entry and reporting from our time tracking system
• Ad-hoc reporting requests as required by clients and Management


Desired skills and experience
• Possess or Working towards a Professional designation
• At least 5 years recent and relevant experience in full cycle bookkeeping including managing accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Strong hands-on experience using Quickbooks Online and Excel
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities, and constant change
• Ability to allocate time effectively and manage tight deadlines

The following would be nice to have, but are not required:
• Experience preparing corporate tax filings
• Experience implementing new systems and processes
